I took a bus from Orange County in California to the Mexican border at Texicano in the states, crossed the border and thought Id try hitchhiking, got as far as the town bus station, and the guy said it was all desert in the north and to go get a bus, so I did, overnighted to Los Mochas, and met a guy called Michael on the bus from the USA, doing a similar trip to me, headed down the coast to Mazatlan, MExican seaside resort, very quiet, mostly mexican tourists, nice, but moving on tomorrow.

I will run low on money if I stay out here, as it is not as cheap as singapore or asia. still not sure if I will study here or just travel, plan to head towards mex city and check out the university before I decide. LA is a long bus ride away so I dont think I want to go back there to fly home for xmas, still looking at getting a flight from mex city, but not sure if I will come home for xmas again.

meal is $5 3 pounds bed is $8 5 pounds.
10 pesos to the dollar
1.5 dollars to the pound
south america would be cool, who knows. just drifting at the moment....
heading for guadalajara, san miguel, mex city...

So, I woke up on the morning after my last exam in Singapore and decided that I needed to get out. I had completed the scholarship there and still had some money saved for the rest of the year. Hull University exchanges with IberoAmericana in Mexico City so I thought I would head there. I have wanted to learn Spannish, so I thought that it would be good to experience another culture rather than stay in singapore for a second semester.

I still want to come home for xmas, so I am looking for a ticket either from mexicoor from Los Angeles back to the UK. Term starts in January in Mexico. I then have aflight back to Singapore that stops in Taiwan on the way back. I have to use this by May. It would be good to stop in Taiwan on the way back to the UK for a few months, to improve my Chinese, and then nget a ticket back from there.

I spent a couple of days at my friend Mandy's in San Fransisco, then off to Sunnyvale to visit my mum's cousin, and then here to Yorba Linda near Los Angeles, where Patricia lives, a friend I met in Singapore.

In Mexico I can study spannish language and Mexican culture without having to speak Spannish before hand. But the accomodation is not cheap about 70 pounds a week, so am not sure if I want to go to the university or just travel in mexico and s-america...

Heading to Mexico this week. I will write from there.

I am going ot go mad... 4 of the 6 exams out of the way. business law on friday and chinese on saturday. I went down with another cold at the beginning of the week, which has not helped. 6 exams is too much, very hard to revise enough for them all, and 4 in this last week.

I've decided to head to India for 6 weeks, before I come home for xmas. Went and queud for 2 hours this morning at the embassy to put my visa application in... and was 5 minutes late for international relations exam because of it. I havn't got a ticket yet. I plan to get a one-way out there, and then find a ticket to UK once I am there, so there's a chance I won't be able to find a ticket home, but I should be ok.

Met another guy from NTU at the embassey who is also going to India, so may be going witha few people. end.
