//hello,

All is going very well back at Uni.
Project is really taking shape.
taking Japanese as my free elective, plus sitting in on Greek Philosophy and Space exploration, so all very interesting.
I have been nominated to be a Microsoft most valued student. I don't know if that means I have sold my soul to the devil of capitalism and buggy software, but it should mean some free software, books and training, so that's good.

Went home last weekend to meet Bosmat from Israel, who I studied with in Mexico, Rosie, who I met in Nicaragua, and Wu Hao, who arrived from China and is now studying in Bangor, Wales.

Heading to Northampton the weekend after next to a bcs working weekend on encouraging school kids into careers in IT.

We are having a party this saturday. There are so many people here that I know from before, people keep appearing from out of the woodwork, its great to see everyone again.

Arrived back in Hull, living at 25 Cranbrook Avenue, so far with Hulio, from Spain, and Andrew, from Kuala Lumpur, the capitla of Malaysia, so language wise, we speak Mandarin, Malay and Spanish, all is good, house is very nice, a little expensive, 51 pounds a week, all bills are included for that, its cheap for UK but expensive for Hull. It's owned by the university and refurbished last year. I have free dial-up in my room as well, and its mins of less to the lecture hall.

Catching up with everyone has been great, just visited Hakmet and his family, and he's got into a really good school in Hull, a Navy school... no-one recognises me, so I can walk about incognito, which is nice, for a bit anyway...

Home sweet home.
It took 16 hours to get home. Left penang for Kuala Lumpur at 9am after getting a lift to the airport with Ken, one of li qian's friends and the guy who is going to take my place in the room at the Harapan hostel.

Arrived KL airport to alarm bells and power blackouts, but managed to get on the plane 1.5 hours later. flight with Malaysian airlines was ok-lah, Mum and Dad picked me up from London Heathrow 13 hours later.

I think I have a virus on my laptop, as soon as I connected to the net.
so now downloading virus updates on my dads computer.

a bit busy, but its good to be back. cold dreary weather, although last night the sun was shining when I landed. quiet jetlagged.

speak soon,
john
