Pictures have dissapeared, a problem with Hull server. hope to get them back soon.
Bangkok was great, nice to get away. met up with Julian and Mia from NTU, and Tom Parker from Hull, who was in BK for a week down from the north of Thailand. long train ride 22 hours back, 15 pounds, but well worth it. nice train.
I forgot to say (or maybe I did?),but I lost a load of photos from Mexico, about 200! just got over it I think, so I can talk about it again... but I have those from central america and the last few weeks. I lost them whilst in Mexico, because I thought I was writing them to CD, but I was using an appleMac, and after you drag the files to the CD, you must then drag the CD to the waste basket!!! what a stupid thing to have to do to finalize the disc??
Been demotivated lately. I am only taking 3 subjects here, the idea was to do loads of other stuff whilst I was here, like maths, reading, my project for next year... but unfortunately I am finding it difficult to do that, I sleep at 2am because my room mates are up studying or listening to music, which is ok, but then I don't get up till gone 10, they are up at 8 or something! the chancellor of the university or somebody important here told them in a welcome meeting that 5 hours of sleep is enough! so they set their target to this! 5 hours! that's less than the singapre average of 5.9!
Chinese still going strong, Malay is poor, the teaching is very bad, and difficult to practice when everyone speaks manglish. Difficult to work in the room, as so many distractions, friends drop by, guitar, music, canteen so close, so may migrate to the library.
now winding down, looking to come home on the 1st August, after national day. bought 2 Manu Chao CD's in Bangkok and forgotten how good he is, and I can understand him now, the spanish and english anyway, not the french yet.
Joined a Dikit Barak group from Kalantan, province in the north. drums, gongs, chanting and clapping. it rocks, based on muslim prayers, one guy leeds and then the rest follow, Hey Jude goes down a treat...
Performing in the Indian Interaction night on saturday, a tamil song, about 9 of us exchange students dressing in Sahris and punjab suits, should be good.
a brief rundown of the year:
Singapore:
Too many courses, too much to do, too stressed out.

least interaction with local students.
Mexico:
Rocked all the way.
living with family bext experience ever.
best environment to learn spanish.
lots of great friends to visit around the world in the future.
Malaysia: I'll let you know when I'm done. and write properly about it all in more than bullet points.
