I arrived in Malaysia on Monday to be picked up by my very good friend and ex-hull-housemate Andrew Tay, we had a mini reunion of all the Hull-Malaysian students on our course in the evening and the next day I took a cab to the airport and I'm now in Miri with A Ying.

Things are nice and relaxed for me whilst A Ying has been finishing off work for the end of semester which was today. Tomorrow we are taking an 18 seater propeller plane to Mulu National Park with a few of A Ying's coursemates. We come back on Monday before taking another flight to Kuching to meet her family. After a few days there we go to Johor Bahru to meet up with friends and then on to Singapore for the day to see more friends, we'll spend SAturday with Andrew and his family in JB and then back to KL on sunday morning. After a 6 hour stopover in Dubai i'm back in the UK on monday morning and A Ying is back to Kuching.

See you soon I hope,
john

See what yahoo.com looked like in 1996, historical internet searching

My exams finished yesterday, all 7 of them, 5 went well, 2 did not. I started in the biology lab 2 weeks ago, and I've been learning how to dissect fruit fly brains and use chemical dyes to stain them for different proteins. It is fascinating, and great to be doing some practical biology. I wanted to get a head start on my summer project so that I can take a holiday to Malaysia to see A Ying. I booked my ticket yesterday and I fly to KL on Sunday 22nd May, returning Monday 6th June. On Wednesday a group of us from the MSc are going to Skye for 4 days, this should be fun too, there are 32 of us so far.
